The Kigamboni District Commissioner, Halima Bulembo, has commended Puma Energy Tanzania for its continued efforts to simplify Tanzanians' access to energy services and products in various parts of the country.
She made these remarks while participating in the official launch of the company's new fuel station and additional services in Dege Mtaa, Somangila Ward, Kigamboni Municipality, Dar es Salaam.
“Tanzania is witnessing a significant transition in its economic growth, and to benefit all citizens, collaboration between the government and the private sector is essential. The energy sector is among the sectors driving this growth, which is fundamental in operating various social and economic activities. Therefore, as citizens are brought closer to energy services, access is simplified and the cost of traveling long distances is reduced,” said Bulembo.
The new fuel station located in Dege Mtaa will greatly assist the residents of the area and surrounding neighbourhoods by making fuel and lubricant products more accessible.
Additionally, there will be more value added services available to make it easier for many Tanzanians to purchase all their needs in one place, such as a supermarket for various household items and the ability to buy and refill cooking gas cylinders at affordable prices.
The Kigamboni District Commissioner commended Puma Energy Tanzania for its commitment to continue extending its services to reach Tanzanians wherever they are.
“The government's role is to build infrastructure and partner with stakeholders from different sectors to ensure its citizens have better lives. I congratulate Puma Energy Tanzania for being a close partner with the government in the development of the energy sector in the country,” she added and concluded, “As the government, we promise to continue this cooperation by ensuring a conducive business environment so you can keep expanding your services to rural areas that are still underserved. On behalf of the residents of Kigamboni, we thank you for bringing your services closer and donating LPG cylinders to support women in small-scale food vending businesses as part of your energising communities’ commitment to boosting social and economic development activities across the country.”
On her part, the Managing Director of Puma Energy Tanzania, Fatma Abdallah, explained that the launch of this retail station is part of the company’s strategy to continue energising the Tanzanian community and serving its customers with the utmost levels of innovation across various regions of the country.
“Our main goal is to continue energising the Tanzanian communities and ensuring that our customers receive above and beyond high-quality services and products at affordable prices.
Therefore, as part of the celebrations for Customer Service Week, we have decided to take action by bringing services closer. The launch of this new fuel station will provide refueling services and additional services such as car washing, mechanical services, LPG cylinders,lubricants, and a supermarket stocked with various household needs,” explained Abdallah.
The Managing Director encouraged the residents of Dege Mtaa to make good use of the new station to simplify their daily lives. “I urge the people of Kigamboni to take advantage of the opportunities brought by the presence of this new station close to your homes. We thank the government for its continued cooperation and for creating a favourable business environment that enables us to continue expanding and improving our services. This station will provide services 24 hours a day, every day of the week, to ensure that no one is left behind in their social and economic activities.”
In addition to launching the new retail site and value-added services, Puma Energy Tanzania donated 200 PumaGas cylinders. The donation, presented to the District Commissioner, aims to benefit women engaged in small-scale food vending businesses as part of the company's strategy to energise the Tanzanian community nationwide.
